Wishing you a restful, safe and happy Holiday!

Thank you for all of your support this term. The children are thriving and are looking forward to a break!

Thank you too for the generous cards and gifts. I appreciate your family thinking of me.

A huge thank you for all the cans of food and non-perishable items that you have donated to those in need in our community at this time of year. Your help is invaluable.

May you all have a restful, safe and happy holiday with your friends and family-

See you January 10!

Yours,
Mme Dungo

PS Some ideas for the holidays....(of course I would add this :) )

In French we will be looking at Poetry in the month of January. The children will be celebrating a Poetry Cafe at the end of January with special readings of their work and a hot chocolate cafe. Introduce the children to simple, rhyming words and various forms of poetry.

In Mathematics we are wrapping up movement and location and will be exploring measurement. Please involve your children if you are baking, cooking, etc. to expose the children to the idea of measurement. Have the children create their own measurements, estimate and measure their siblings using units of measure and non-units of measure, such as the amount of paper clips, the number of shoes, etc. Have fun!

In Sciences we are continuing on with water and will transition into Liquids and Solids. Have the children describe the different characteristics of liquids and solids. Observe liquids and solids in nature.

In Social Studies we will be looking at each continent in detail describing its climate, its people and its traditions. This is a great time to discuss the different celebrations that are happening around this time of year.

Okay, I promise that's it!

Hope this helps!
